Oral history interview with Irene Mohrer Steinberg and Sheldon Steinberg, June 27, 1989.

Irene describes her youth in the beginning of Hilter's reign and of her family's escape to the United States in 1937. After a year in New York the family came to Seattle and started a beauty supply business. Steinberg attended the University of Washington as the first Zionist activities were being organized. She discusses her work in a number of Jewish organizations, including Hadassah and the Jewish Federation. She talks at length of Russian resettlement and general fund-raising in the Federation. She discusses directors Murray Schiff and Irv Goldberg. She also mentions her reasons for moving to Israel. The third interview tape features Irene Steinberg's husband, Sheldon Steinberg, briefly discussing his own activities in the Jewish Federation, Israel Bonds, Bikur Cholim Congregation, and Jewish Day School.
